Jason Spade

Lead Pastor

Jason is a graduate of Liberty University, having completed his Bachelor of Science in Religion specializing in Christian Counseling, and his Master of Arts in Christian Ministry Degree. He is planning to pursue his doctorate in ministry in the near future.

Jason has previously served as a church planter, campus pastor, interim pastor, and as a lead pastor and brings a wealth of experience in leadership and pastoral ministry to First Baptist Church where he was called to pastor beginning May 2021.

He also currently serves as the Mountain State Association Disaster Relief Director and as First Vice President of the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists.

Jason and his wife, Karmen, were married in 1998. They have two kids, twins, Trey and Taylor. Together, they are dedicated to serving the local church and helping others come to know Jesus Christ.

Andrew Maynor

Associate Pastor

Andrew is a graduate of Bluefield State College, where he received his B.S. in Architectural Engineering Technology with a Minor in Mathematics. He is also a graduate of Liberty University, having received his Master of Divinity degree.

Andrew worked as a Civil Design Engineer during 2013-2019, and was the youth pastor at College Avenue Baptist Church from 2015-2019. Andrew joined First Baptist Church in the Fall of 2019 as the Associate Pastor. His current emphasis is the discipleship of children and teenagers.

Andrew and his wife, Ashley, have an energetic boy, Lucas, with another baby expected in the Spring of 2023. Together, they love serving the church, and seeing others grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures.
